Sri Ghulam Nabi Azad, Hon'ble Minsiter of Health and Family Welfare, GOI, inaugurated the much awaited book ' THE BANERJI PROTOCOLS- A New Method of Treatment with Homeopathic Medicines', co-authored by Dr. Prasanta Banerji and Dr. Pratip Banerji, on Saturday, 8th June, 2013, at the Oberoi Grand Hotel, Kolkata. The special guests of honour at this function were Sri Vijay J. Darda, Hon'ble MP, Chairman of the Lokmat Group of Newspapers and distinguished author, and Smt. Aparna Sen, eminent film maker and actor.

The program began with the welcoming of the diginitaries by Smt. Rinku Banerji, followed by the inaugural speech by Dr. Pratip Banerji. Smt. Aparna Sen gave a pleasant narration of the life and work of Dr. Prasanta Banerji, and the family lineage of social services that started from Pundit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar. Sri Vijay J. Darda, Sri. Sanat Dutta and Dr. Pranab Dasgupta shared snippets of their experiences with Dr. Prasanta Banerji as a doctor, friend and colleague.

The book was launched by Sri Ghulam Nabi Azad. In his speech, the Hon'ble Minister mentioned the importance of alternative medication in treating the multitude of patients in India.

The programme also saw the august presence of dignitaries, among whom were Justice Biswanath Somaddar, Justice Tarun Chatterjee, Justice Chittotosh Mukherjee, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmia, Sri. Y.C. Deveshwar, Sri. Sandeep Ray and Smt. Lolita Ray, Sri. Biman Bose,Sri Ranjit Kumar Panchnanda, and members of various state consulates.
